Permits
MGM handles
all permit administration for its clients, including communicating
with the power company (PSE&G, JCP&L) when required. A permit helps
assure quality of workmanship and safety. It creates a documented
“chain” of responsibility & liability in case of future problems.
Although it definitely creates a lot more work for the contractor,
it is for your own benefit and protection. As stated above, a
professional contractor is licensed, insured and regularly has its
work scrutinized by local inspectors who are highly proficient in
the most current safety code advisories.
These inspectors are privy
to the latest information well before that information gets
disseminated to the contractor performing the work. The combination
of professional installation and inspection assures your family’s
safety, a goal MGM takes very seriously.
Registration
The NJ
Division of Consumer Affairs requires all home improvement
contractors to be registered, to file proof that they have general
liability insurance in a minimum of $500,000 per occurrence. The NJDCA imposes other strict requirements on individuals or companies
that market and carry out home improvement services. Make sure your
contractor is licensed and registered. |
